The Worley Point is a rocky headland on the northwest end of Shepard Island amid the Getz Ice Shelf off the Hobbs Coast of the West Antarctic Marie Byrd lands . It is the standard location of a breeding colony of Adelie penguins .
She was charted by the crew of the icebreaker USS Glacier on February 4, 1962. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named her in 1962 after Lieutenant Richard J. Worley of the United States Navy , a doctor on the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in 1969.
