history
The publishing house was founded in Erkrath in 2009 by Patric Götz, who had previously worked at Ulisses Spiele . In 2012 Uhrwerk Verlag moved to Cologne.
Nicole Heinrichs and Uli Lindner became official employees in 2013 , Tilman Hakenberg and Heimke Husmann joined them in 2015 and Kathrin Dodenhoeft in 2016.
2016 took over the movement publishing the role-playing and fantasy - fiction publishing house Feder & Schwert . At the end of 2016, Thomas Römer took the place of Tilman Hakenberg. Uli Lindner took over the management of the editorial team. In 2017 Judith Antonowitsch and Aşkın-Hayat Doğan joined, in 2018 Friederike Bold, Felix Hensell, Tina Giesler and Aimée M. Ziegler-Kraska.
The publisher filed for bankruptcy on May 29, 2019. In this context, almost all permanent editors were fired. Since January 2020, Uhrwerk Verlag has been run independently by managing director Patric Götz.
Publisher's products
The publisher's first games were the German translations of Hollow Earth Expedition and Deadlands Classic as well as publications on Das Schwarze Auge -Continent Myranor under sublicence.
These games were accompanied by in-house productions such as Malmsturm , Contact and Dungeonslayers as well as the translations of Legend of the Five Rings and the Lord of the Rings role-playing game The One Ring as The One Ring . Since 2013, the publishing program has also included the translation into English under the publisher's name Clockwork Publishing . The English version of the game planned for 2014 was financed with crowdfunding for a translation of the German version of the steampunk role-playing game Space: 1889 .
In addition, in 2014 Uhrwerk Verlag published its own role-playing system called Splittermond , which has since been expanded with numerous publications.
The sub-license for Myranor was ended in 2017, since then Ulisses Spiele has the sole rights.
In February 2018, Uhrwerk Verlag published the translation of the Swedish post-apocalypse role-playing game Mutant: År Noll from the Mutant series as Mutant: Jahr Null .
