Ulf Hoffmann (born September 8, 1961 in Neustrelitz ) is a former German gymnast . His home club was SC Dynamo Berlin .
He won a silver medal in the team all-round competition with the team of the German Democratic Republic (GDR) at the 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul . For this he was awarded the Patriotic Order of Merit in silver. At the World Championships in Montreal in 1985 and in Rotterdam in 1987 , he finished third with the GDR team in the all-around competition. His greatest success in an individual discipline was winning the bronze medal in bar gymnastics at the European Championships in 1985, after his brother Lutz Hoffmann had also achieved third place at the European Championships four years earlier on the same device.
At GDR championships he won a total of three national individual titles. He won floor exercise in 1985 as well as in 1982 tied with Frank Bouchard and in 1988 tied with Holger Behrendt and Andreas Wecker on the horizontal bar .
