Uli Eisner

Uli Eisner (born January 7, 1956 in Munich ) is a German sound engineer , music producer and composer .

Life

Eisner founded his first beat band at the boarding school at the age of 11. From 1973 he played in Munich formations such as the Charly Braun Group, Montreal or the City Band. In addition, he made his first recording experiments with a 2-track tape and worked sporadically as a roadie, including for the Wheels , which in 1979 gave him the opportunity to recognize his true talent on the live mixer. From then on he worked as a popular live mixer. In addition to the Wheels, Vanessa, KP Schweizer, Jackie Shay, Inker & Hamilton and the Peter Gorski Band were among his first customers. In 1980 he started his first support tours a. a. with Dire Straits and Chris de Burgh . In the following years Münchener Freiheit , the Wolle Kriwanek Band , Bonfire , Judas Priest and Dick Heckstall-Smith were on the list.

On November 9, 1989, Eisner and Paul Vincent founded their first own recording studio in the free space of Musicland Studios . There he was able to assist the producer Mack . In our own studio a. Music for TV productions like Tatort , Ein Haus in der Toscana or Der Castillo-Coup and own music projects. As a result of the collaboration with Paul Vincent, Eisner also became a permanent member of the Wolle Kriwanek Band in the role of creative sound designer , from which the band Vincent Rocks emerged after Wolle Kriwanek's death . There he is still responsible for the sound of all records, videos and concerts.

His current studio specializes in final mixing and mastering, recordings are made with mobile equipment or in third-party studios.

From 1991, Uli Eisner wrote a series of workshops on sound technology for Soundcheck magazine (PPV), which was continued over several years. This resulted in the standard work Mixing Workshop or Mixing Workshop 2.0 (2009 - with additions by Uli Hoppert). He still sporadically contributes articles to Recording Magazin from the same publisher. Since 2001 Eisner has also been working as a workshop lecturer on a wide variety of topics in the field of music production.
