Uli King
Uli König (* 1981 near Bad Oldesloe ) is a German computer scientist and politician of the Pirate Party Germany . From 2012 to 2017 he was a member of the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament . He was parliamentary managing director of the pirate faction in the Schleswig-Holstein state parliament and chairman of the petitions committee .
biography
Uli König is the son of a midwife and a human biologist . After graduating from high school in 2001 and doing community service , he began studying computer science at the University of Lübeck in 2002 , which he completed in 2010 with a master’s degree. The minor was media informatics . From 2009 to 2012, König worked at the Independent State Center for Data Protection Schleswig-Holstein .
Political commitment
Uli König joined the Pirate Party in 2006, the year it was founded. Concerned about the emergence of a German surveillance state, he became politically active, he writes on his page in the Pirate Wiki. He also opposes the criminalization of broad sections of the population through the currently applicable copyright law . In 2007, König was a co-founder of the Schleswig-Holstein Pirate Association , became state chairman and remained in this office until 2010. In the state elections in Schleswig-Holstein in 2012 on May 6, 2012, he was third on the list of his party and was in Schleswig-Holstein Parliament elected. He wants to give up his job first to work as a full-time politician in the state parliament. In his “ Political Compass ”, Uli König positions himself slightly to the left of center and more as libertarian than authoritarian.
