Uli Tanner
Uli Tanner ( mentioned for the first time in 1474 under the name of Hans Ulrich Tanner ; last time in 1507 ; resident in Herisau ) was a Swiss governor, mayor and delegate from the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden .
Life
During the Burgundian wars, Uli Tanner led the Appenzell troops as governor in 1474 at the battle of Héricourt and in 1476 at Grandson . Before the battle of Murten he is said to have been knighted . In 1476 he took part in the peace negotiations with Savoy in Freiburg . From 1495 to 1496 Tanner is mentioned as Landammann and from 1497 to 1507 as Ammann. However, he must have already exercised the function of Landammann of Appenzell earlier. In 1491 he was an arbitrator in the border dispute between Appenzell and Altstätten and in 1495 in the border dispute between Appenzell and Gais . From 1502 to 1505 he represented his status on legal days in St. Gallen , Frauenfeld and Baden .
