The choirs are supported by the parents' association and are involved and supported by the Ulm City Music School . The current chairman is Christian Hanisch. The name of the choir is derived from the Ulmer Spatzen , one of the landmarks of Ulm. 225 children and young people between the ages of 5 and 18 are currently singing in two pre-choir groups, the children's choir and the youth choir. There is also the chamber choir "Les Passerelles" for young adults.

repertoire

The repertoire ranges from folk songs to works by contemporary composers who are dedicated to the Ulm Sparrows (including Wilfried Hiller , Rolf Rudin , Christian Ridil, Peter Planyavsky , Christoph Schönherr , Leo Hurley and Kurt Bikkembergs ). For the 60th anniversary of the Ulmer Spatzen Choir in 2018, the latter composed the commissioned composition "Prices the cooling love of the air" based on texts by Rose Ausländer .
