Ulrich Bettermann

Ulrich Leo Bettermann (born October 14, 1946 in Menden ) is a German - Swiss entrepreneur .

Life

Bettermann completed his school education with a high school diploma and then completed an apprenticeship in banking. In 1968 he joined the family-owned, medium-sized electrical and building installation technology company OBO Bettermann . Two years later he initially took over eight percent of the company's shares as a partner, in 1985 he paid off his co-partners and became the sole owner and partner. He concentrated on the international expansion of the group of companies. In 1986, the first subsidiary was founded in Switzerland, followed by numerous regional branches across Germany.

As one of the founding fathers, Bettermann is a permanent member of the World Economic Forum in Davos . He now lives in Switzerland and has taken Swiss citizenship .

In December 2013, Bettermann was involved in Michail Borissowitsch Khodorkovsky's quick exit option by providing his group of companies with an aircraft that, according to newspaper reports, Hans-Dietrich Genscher had asked him to do .
