Friedrich Scholl , von Scholl since 1880 (born October 25, 1846 in Darmstadt , † October 2, 1928 in Potsdam ) was a Prussian Colonel General and Adjutant General of Emperor Wilhelm II.

Life

He was the son of Friedrich Scholl (1815–1875), Hessian colonel and department head in the war ministry .

Scholl joined the 2nd cavalry regiment of the Hessian Army on February 11, 1863 . Here he was promoted to second lieutenant on September 3, 1865 and took part in the war against Prussia the following year . After the war was over in the Prussian Army , Scholl was assigned to the Hanover Military Riding Institute from September 27, 1867 to November 11, 1869 . As Prime Lieutenant , Scholl took part in the 1870/71 war against France in the battles at Gravelotte , Noisseville , Beaune-la-Rolande , Orléans and the Siege of Metz, as well as a number of other skirmishes. For his achievements he was awarded the Iron Cross 2nd class.

On June 12, 1877, he was appointed chief of the 5th Squadron while being promoted to Rittmeister . Wilhelm I raised Scholl to hereditary nobility on July 15, 1880 . On December 11, 1886, he was transferred to the 1st Guard Uhlan Regiment in Potsdam. Left in this command, Scholl was appointed on June 19, 1888 as a major on duty wing adjutant of Kaiser and King Wilhelm II. Since June 15, 1891 he was also the commander of the body gendarmerie and on August 18, 1891 became a lieutenant colonel . In the further course of his career, Scholl was part of the emperor's immediate military environment. After he was promoted to General of the Cavalry on December 24, 1905 , he was promoted to Colonel General on June 16, 1913. He was also captain general of the castle and bodyguards.
