Ulrich Everling
Ulrich Everling (born June 2, 1925 in Berlin ; † September 20, 2018 ) was a German lawyer and judge at the European Court of Justice .
After studying law , he received his doctorate in law from the University of Göttingen in 1952 . He began his career in the Federal Ministry of Economics, in whose legal department he worked from 1953. In 1958 he became head of the European department and from 1970 head of the European policy department of the Federal Ministry of Economics. From 1971 he taught as a lecturer at the University of Münster, where he became honorary professor in 1975 . He has been teaching at the University of Bonn since 1981. From October 6, 1980 to October 6, 1988 he was a judge at the European Court of Justice in Luxembourg . In 2000, Saarland University awarded him an honorary doctorate. Since 1990 he has been a Foreign Member of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Sciences .
