Ulrich Feine
Ulrich Fine (* 18th January 1925 in Rostock , † 16th January 2018 in Tübingen ) was a German specialist in radiology , radiology and nuclear medicine and professor.
Life
Ulrich Feine attended a primary school in Tübingen from 1931 to 1935 and the humanistic Uhland grammar school in Tübingen from 1935 to 1943 , where he graduated from high school. After graduating from school, he was drafted into military service. He became a medical officer candidate in the Navy and was taken prisoner at the end of the war. After the war he studied human medicine at the University of Tübingen from 1946 to 1950 and completed his studies with a state examination. In 1951 he received his doctorate. med. Further training took Feine to Marburg , as a guest assistant at the University of Pavia and in Rudolf Schinz's radiology at the University of Zurich . In 1954 he received his license to practice medicine . After his stay in Zurich, Feine moved to the Max Planck Institute for Biophysics in Frankfurt am Main in 1955/56 . He then returned to Tübingen and took over a radioisotope laboratory with diagnostics as senior physician at the Medical Radiation Institute under Robert Bauer. In 1958 he received further training in radioisotope application and radiation protection at the Royal Marsden Hospital in London and the Reactor School in Harwell (England). In 1959 he completed his training as a specialist in radiology and radiation medicine. In 1964 he completed his habilitation with his thesis DNA synthesis and radiation effects - experimental studies with tritiated thymidine on normal and tumor tissue . From 1968 he headed the nuclear medicine department of the Medical Radiation Institute under the direction of Walter Frommhold. In 1974 he was appointed full professor of nuclear medicine and radiology and, until his retirement in 1993 , headed the independent nuclear medicine department at the clinic of the Eberhard Karls University Tübingen as medical director .
Ulrich Feine was married and the father of four daughters.
