The Garching Mühlbach is a flowing body of water in the Munich district of Schwabing-Freimann and in the adjacent city of Garching near Munich to the north .

The from Mühlbach powered Garching Mühlbach separates at the start of the North Munich canal system belonging Schleißheimer channel approximately at the level of Notauslasskanals from Lower Schwabinger Altbach and runs west from Schwabing Bach , the Upper Isarau the west of limitation on the Freimanner Auensiedlung east over, passes under the Munich motorway ring , at the height of the Garching district of Dirnismaning, branches off the Gießen to the east, crosses under the federal highway 471 and further to the north forms the eastern edge of the populated area of Garching. It crosses the grounds of the Garching mill and allows the Wiesäckerbach to branch off to the east north of the municipal orchard. In the further course it approaches the Isaraue again and takes on the Gießen and Griesbach . Then it crosses the University and Research Center Garching , picks up the Wiesäckerbach again at the level of the Garching sewage treatment plant and flows into the Isar after around 300 m . The length of the brook is around 13 km. The amount of water is given as 2 m³ / s.
