Meadow settlement

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Auensiedlung is a settlement in the Munich district of Fröttmaning . After the demolition of the historical center of Fröttmaning (with the exception of the Holy Cross Church ) it is the only residential area in this district.

location

The settlement is located in the north of the Freimann district ( Schwabing-Freimann district ) east of the Fröttmaninger Berg between the Schleissheim Canal and the Garching Mühlbach . It has only one access from the Freisinger Landstrasse , which leads over a bridge over the Schleissheim Canal.

history

After 1948, a wild settlement emerged on the property of a Fröttmaninger farmer between the Freising Landstrasse and the Isar floodplains north of Freimann. After the evacuation of this settlement through demolition and resettlement was debated, the settlers formed a legally loosely organized interest group on November 18, 1951 and named the settlement "Auensiedlung". After this interest group was officially founded on June 14, 1952 as "Auensiedlung an der Freisinger Landstrasse interest group" in the legal framework provided, the city council subsequently legitimized the settlement on February 16, 1953.
