Ulrich Frey

Ulrich Frey (born September 16, 1918 in Burgdorf ; † October 17, 2006 in Bern ) was a Swiss doctor .

Life

Ulrich Frey studied medicine in Bern and Geneva from 1937 to 1943 . In the 1940s he was employed at the University Clinic in Bern . From 1943 to 1945 he was a member of the medical commission of the Swiss Red Cross in Greece . From 1945 to 1951 he was “assistant in Basel, Bern, Zurich and Vienna”, then “private doctor”. From 1952 to 1968 he was a sports doctor for the Swiss Olympic team, from 1971 to 1973 Bernese canton doctor , and finally “ lecturer for preventive medicine ” at the University of Bern. From 1974 to 1983 he was director of the Federal Health Office ; under his leadership the partial revision of the Narcotics Act , the total revision of the Medical Examination Ordinance and the total revision of the Food Act . From 1976 to 1984 he was a volunteer in Department III of the Research Council of the Swiss National Science Foundation .
