Ulrich Fugger the Elder of the Lily , (born October 9, 1441 in Augsburg ; † April 19, 1510 ibid) was the brother and business partner of Jakob Fugger , known as Jakob Fugger the Rich , and Georg Fugger .

Ulrich was the eldest son of Jakob Fugger the Elder , his mother's name was Barbara . His brothers were, besides Jakob the Rich and Georg: Andreas (not to be confused with Andreas Fugger vom Reh ), Johann (called Hans, not to be confused with Ulrich's great-nephew Hans Fugger ), Markus and Peter. However, these three brothers died early: Andreas and Johann on business trips in Venice , Markus in Rome and Peter in Nuremberg .

Ulrich formally ran the company from his father's death in 1469 until his own death. In fact, his mother initially continued the family business, but when she came of age, she transferred larger sums to the sons, which increased them further. The sons also had to negotiate and travel. It was not until Barbara's death in 1497 that the sons were given full access to the entire property. However, Ulrich did not achieve the economic abilities of his youngest brother, in whose shadow he stood.

In 1479 he married Veronika Lauginger. With her he had the following children: Anna (born 1484), Ursula (born 1485), Ulrich II. (Born 1490), Sybille (born 1493) and Hieronymus (born 1499).

Ulrich Fugger died in 1510 as a result of a bladder stone operation .
