Ulrich Hampel (born October 28, 1964 in Alpen ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and was a member of the 18th German Bundestag .

Life

From 1980 to 1982 Hampel attended a vocational school for social education, nutrition and home economics. From 1982 to 1985 he completed an apprenticeship as a mining mechanic at the Friedrich Heinrich colliery . He then worked underground for six years as a hydraulic fitter. He later studied social and labor law at the Dortmund Social Academy and worked for the Mining and Energy Industrial Union and the Mining, Energy, Chemical Industrial Union, among others . At the latter, he was deputy head of the Hamm district from 2000 to 2003 , and since 2003 as the district manager of Münster - Bielefeld .

Hampel is married and has one son.

Political career

In 1982 Hampel became a member of the SPD. After being nominated as a candidate for the 2013 federal election in 2012 , he entered the Bundestag in 2013 via the state list of North Rhine-Westphalia . He was nominated again for the 2017 federal election; his constituency is Coesfeld - Steinfurt II , but missed a mandate.
