Ulrich Steinwedel

Ulrich Steinwedel (born June 24, 1949 ) is a former judge at the German Federal Social Court .

After completing his legal training, Steinwedel entered the social justice system of the State of Lower Saxony in 1978 . After a brief activity at the Würzburg pension office , Steinwedel switched to social justice in the Free State of Bavaria in 1980 and became a judge at the Würzburg social court .

In 1984 Steinwedel was seconded to the Federal Social Court as a research assistant . In 1985 he then worked as a judge at the Augsburg Social Court and, after being appointed judge at the Regional Social Court in 1987, at the Bavarian Regional Social Court .

When he was appointed judge at the Federal Social Court in 1991, Steinwedel was initially assigned to the 8th and 10th Senate of this court, and later he took over the duties of deputy chairman of the 7th Senate.

In November 2004 appointed presiding judge at the Federal Social Court, he was appointed chairman of the 13th Senate of the Federal Social Court. He retired at the end of September 2014.
