Umzumbe is a coastal town in the South African province of KwaZulu-Natal and part of the village of Hibberdene . Umzumbe is located in Ray Nkonyeni Township, Ugu District .
In 2011 the settlement had 366 inhabitants. It is about 95 kilometers south of Durban and five kilometers south of Hibberdene at sea level . The Mzumbe River flows into the sea at Umzumbe . The place is in the middle of a dune forest.
Umzumbe is a natural resort. It is a popular holiday destination for retirees and families.
