history

University entrance

The government of the then Pakistan , whose eastern part formed Bangladesh until 1971, made the decision in the 1960s to found another university in Chittagong. The university began teaching in 1966. The academic program began on November 18, 1966 with an initial 200 students in Bengali, English, history and economics. Later, colleges for medicine, engineering, law and education were added and the university was gradually expanded to become a full university .

The real development only took place after Bangladesh gained independence after 1971.
