Our Lord Ruh in Herretshofen, Kirchhaslach

The Roman Catholic Chapel of Our Lords Ruh is located in Herretshofen, a district of Kirchhaslach in the Unterallgäu district in Bavaria . The chapel is a listed building.

history

The chapel was probably built around 1609. To the west of the chapel is the former sacristan's house , which dates from the same time. The sacristan's house was originally a hermitage for Capuchins . They helped in the pilgrimage church of the Assumption in Kirchhaslach.

Building description

The east-facing chapel has a powerful Tuscan order of pilasters on the outside . In the spaces between these pilasters there are other narrow pilasters and plaster arcades. These are interrupted in the apex above the round windows and continue vertically upwards. The chapel has a roof turret on the west side, before the sacristan's house is immediately adjacent . The roof turret is square in the lower area, on which there is an octagonal upper floor. The hall of the chapel, which is closed on three sides in the east, consists of two axes and has a flat ceiling. The gallery in the west of the chapel dates from 1860 . The space is continued behind the gallery through a large arcade . This area is already inside the former sacristan's house.

Furnishing

The altar dates from around 1690/1700. In the arched central niche there is a figure of Christ resting . To the right and left are statues of Our Lady and St. John the Baptist . The paintings of the 14 helpers made around 1680 were originally in Kirchhaslach.
