from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Unteralpfener Mühle is a former flour mill at the confluence of the Leiterbach and Steinbach rivers in Unteralpfen in the Waldshut district .

history

The mill was first mentioned in 1342 and was in operation until 1944. The building dates from 1540/60 and was a feudal mill of the Säckingen monastery . It is one of the few remaining buildings in the Waldshut district after the Thirty Years' War . The Tröndle family of millers became known and is associated with the history of the saltpeter . The pastor and local researcher Jakob Ebner researched the history of the mill in detail in his book Eine Müllerdynastie im Schwarzwald , published in 1910 . From 1977 the mill was restored and the grinding gear was put into operation and a mill museum was set up. A room with objects and the portrait of the cleaning master Adam Tröndle could be visited. Guided tours took place on mill day. In 2018 the mill was sold to private customers.
