Fronmühle (Herrischried)

The Fronmühle was a watermill near Herrischried in the Waldshut district , which was operated in Fron . In modern times it also served as a wage mill and sawmill .

location

The Fronmühle is located south of Herrischried. The water wheel was supplied with water through an artificially created ditch, which is now called the Sägebach and flows to the Murg .

history

The Fronmühle was mentioned in 1341 ( earlier in Berainen ). It was a ban mill of the Säckingen monastery . A Dinghof , the Kellerhof, (original building burned down in 1965), and a personal treasure house once belonged to the mill . In 1963 the married couple Marie-Luise and Günter Adolf bought the mill and tried to keep it operational. Today it is privately owned.
