Jakob Ebner (born September 17, 1873 in Unteralpfen ; † April 26, 1960 there ) was a German Catholic pastor and local history researcher.

Life

After graduating from the Grand Ducal Gymnasium in Freiburg in 1893, Jakob Ebner studied Catholic theology and history in Freiburg im Breisgau . On July 1, 1897 he was ordained a priest and was vicar in Unadingen and Stühlingen . In 1900 he became pastor in Sipplingen , a year later Kaplaneiverweser in Pfullendorf and in 1903 pastor in Bietingen / Meßkirch. During the First World War from 1914 to 1918 he worked as a division pastor. He was awarded the Iron Cross 1st Class . After the war he was pastor in Bruchsal and curate in Grenzach . In 1937 he became archbishop clerical council . In addition to the history of his homeland, he always dealt with the respective history of his parishes .

“In the extensive estate of Pastor Dr. Jakob Ebner there are a number of letters that the painter Professor Adolf Hildenbrand (AHi) wrote to the 'countryman, pastor and Ebnersmann' in the period from August 1933 to Christmas 1942 from Pforzheim and the 'Red House' in Bernau ”.
