Unterlauterbach is a district of the city of Rottenburg an der Laaber in the Lower Bavarian district of Landshut . Until 1971 it formed an independent municipality.

location

Unterlauterbach is located on the Lauterbach about three kilometers west of Rottenburg and about one kilometer east of Oberlauterbach .

history

Unterlauterbach, formerly known as Niederlauterbach, is historically closely linked to the former Hofmark Oberlauterbach. In 1583 Siegmund Viehhäuser, Herr auf Oberlauterbach, was given jurisdiction over Niederlauterbach. The border of the Hofmark Oberlauterbach in the direction of Rottenburg went through Unterlauterbach. It was characterized by an "oak tree" with a wooden tortoise.

Initially belonging to the municipality of Oberlauterbach, Unterlauterbach and Unterbuch were split off as a separate municipality in 1847. It belonged to the district court Rottenburg, district office and most recently district Rottenburg an der Laaber . In 1858 the attempt to unite the communities of Oberhatzkofen , Niederhatzkofen , Bogenhausen and Unterlauterbach into one community failed . Only in the course of the regional reform in Bavaria on April 1, 1971 Unterlauterbach voluntarily joined the municipality of Oberhatzkofen. On May 1, 1978 the community of Oberhatzkofen was incorporated into the city of Rottenburg.
