The support squadron (UstgGschw) is a boat squadron of the German Navy and is subordinate to the operational flotilla 1 in Kiel .

General

The support squadron was set up in Kiel on September 27, 2016. It took over personnel and material from the decommissioned 5th Mine Sweeping Squadron and two tenders from the 7th Schnellbootgeschwader . Located in the naval base of Kiel -based squadron has a Wing staff and five Tender of the same class (class 404) . It is led by an officer with the rank of frigate captain .
