The Kiel naval base is located in Schleswig-Holstein in the coastal city of Kiel in the Wik district .
Departments
The naval base in Kiel is home to numerous offices and parts of the German Navy and other authorities. Its port is named after Alfred von Tirpitz , a German Grand Admiral . The Tirpitzhafen is to be renamed Oskar-Kusch-Hafen in 2020 , the Tirpitzmole into Brandtauch -Hafen .
