history

Bus of the Naval Music Corps Baltic Sea (2014)

The Marine Music Corps Kiel was set up on June 1, 1956 under the name Marine Music Corps Baltic Sea in Eckernförde . At the same time, the North Sea Marine Music Corps was set up in Wilhelmshaven , in the initial phase it was affiliated to the Baltic Sea Marine Music Corps and housed in the Kiel-Holtenau aviator base.

At first there was a lack of personnel and instruments, so that the ability to play could only be achieved through the cooperation of both music corps. In July 1957, the North Sea Marine Music Corps was able to return to its intended location in Wilhelmshaven.

After the dissolution of this music corps in March 2014, the German Navy temporarily only had the Naval Music Corps in Kiel. Today, the Wilhelmshaven Marine Music Corps is back in Wilhelmshaven .
