The Heeresmusikkorps Kassel (HMusKorps Kassel), until September 18, 2013 Heeresmusikkorps 2 (HMusKorps 2) based in Kassel is a music corps of the German army . It is the only music corps of the Bundeswehr in the state of Hesse.

task

The orchestra performs its duties in the field of troop ceremonies in Hesse and the neighboring federal states. In addition, numerous benefit concerts are on the program. The music corps is also deployed abroad, for example on concert tours or as part of troop support.

history

The Army Music Corps 2 was set up on July 1, 1956 under the designation IV A as the music corps of the 2nd Grenadier Division in Kassel. On March 16, 1959, the orchestra was named Heeresmusikkorps 2 . In the course of the dissolution of the 2nd Grenadier Division, u. a. the city of Baunatal for the maintenance of the orchestra and has been sponsoring it ever since. The orchestra is located in the former Liège barracks in Kassel.
