Unwritten Law (German: unwritten law ) is an American rock group founded in 1990 in San Diego , California .

history

The group originated in California in the early 1990s, although their music is not typical for California, as there are relatively many synthesizer effects in it, which makes it unusually pop-like. After their debut Blue Room was released, Unwritten Law toured the United States . However, the success of this album was relatively modest. So they switched to the record company Epic Records and released their first album a second time. In 1997 they went to the Interscope record company . Unwritten Law have been releasing their music on the Lava Records label since 2003 .

After their underground hit "Cailin '" (1999 Summer Favorite), the second Interscope album "ELVA" by the San Diego quintet Unwritten Law was released in autumn 2002. Their unconventional sound stood out from the crowd of numerous punk and new rock bands. Because of these qualities, Unwritten Law et al. a. Josh Abraham (Korn, Limp Bizkit, Staind) and Miguel (Sublime, Long Beach Dub Allstars) won over for the production. In addition, some of the songs were used in computer and console games from Electronic Arts , such as: B. "The Celebration Song" in Need for Speed: Underground 2 and FIGHT in Burnout Revenge .
