EWK Upamalika Rathnakumari (born November 2, 1987 ) is a Sri Lankan sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter run .

Athletic career

Upamalika Rathnakumari gained her first international experience in 2016 at the South Asian Games in Guwahati , where she won the silver medal behind India with the Sri Lankan 4 x 400 meter relay in 3: 38.89 minutes. In 2018 she took part in the Asian Indoor Championships in Tehran , where she won the bronze medal in 54.90 seconds behind the two Kazakh women Svetlana Golendowa and Elina Michina . In the following year she was eliminated from the military world games in Wuhan over 400 meters with 58.26 seconds in the first round and finished fifth in the relay in 3: 43.33 minutes.

In 2017 Rathnakumari became the Sri Lankan champion in the 400-meter run.
