Elina Dmitrijewna Michina ( Russian Элина Дмитриевна Михина , English transcription Elina Dmitriyevna Mikhina; born July 16, 1994 in Ridder ) is a Kazakh sprinter who specializes in the 400-meter distance .

Athletic career

Elina Michina gained her first experience in international championships at the 2010 Asian Youth Games in Singapore , where she won the silver medal over 400 meters and took fourth place in the Kazakh 4 x 400 meter relay. She then took part in the first-ever Youth Olympic Games, also in Singapore, where she finished second in the C final. She also took fifth place with the Kazakh sprint relay (1000 meters). At the World Youth Championships in 2011 near Lille , she was eliminated in the first round, as well as at the 2012 Junior World Championships in Barcelona with the 4 x 400 meter relay. In 2014 she was eliminated from the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea in the individual competition in the preliminary round and finished sixth in the relay. She qualified for the first time for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro , where she was eliminated over 400 meters in the first round.
