Svetlana Vladimirovna Golendowa ( Russian Светлана Владимировна Голендова ., English transcription Svetlana Golendova; born Иванчукова - Iwantschukowa - Ivanchukova * 25. July 1993 in Georgijewka ) is a Kazakh sprinter .

Athletic career

Golendowa gained her first experience in international championships at the Junior Asian Championships 2012 in Colombo , where she finished fourth over 200 meters and seventh over 100 meters. In 2013 she took part in the Asian Championships in Pune over 100 meters and came in fifth there. In 2014, she won the silver medal behind the team from China at the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, with the Kazakh 4 x 100 meter relay. In 2015, the Al-Farabi University student won the gold medal in the 4 x 100 meter relay at the Summer Universiade in Gwangju and was eliminated in the semi-finals over 100 meters. Previously, she was disqualified at the Asian Championships in Wuhan with the relay.

Two years later, she took part with the Kazakh relay at the World Championships in London , where she was eliminated 45.47 s in advance . Two weeks later, she took part in the Student World Games in Taipei , where she reached the semi-finals over 200 meters. In 2018 she took part in the Asian Indoor Championships in Tehran , where she won the gold medal in 53.28 seconds in her first race over 400 meters ahead of her compatriot Elina Michina . In addition, she won the gold medal with the Kazakh relay. She then took part in the World Indoor Championships in Birmingham and was eliminated there both in the individual competition over 400 meters and with the Kazakh relay in the first round. At the end of August she took part again in the Asian Games in Jakarta and won the bronze medal there with the 4 x 100 meter relay in 43.82 s. In addition, she took sixth place in the final with the 4 x 400 meter relay and won the silver medal with the mixed relay after the doping-related disqualification of the Bahraini relay in 2019. The following year she finished fifth over 400 meters at the Asian Championships in Doha in 53.83 s. In addition, she won the silver medal behind the Chinese with the 4 x 100 meter relay in 43.36 seconds and reached fourth place with the mixed relay in 3: 20.73 minutes. With the 4 x 100 meter relay, she qualified for the World Championships in Doha, where she was eliminated with 43.79 s in the lead.

In 2013 and 2016 Golendowa became the Kazakh champion over 100 meters and in 2018 and 2020 the indoor champion over 200 meters. She has been married to the Kazakh canoeist Ilya Golendow since 2016 and also changed her name. She completed a sports degree at Al-Farabi University in Almaty .
