history
Because of poor harvests, massive numbers of Russian migrants moved south to what is now Kazakhstan in 1892. In 1893 these emigrants founded two villages in the Pischpek district . One of these villages was today's Qordai, which at that time was called Georgievka ( Георгиевка ). The residents mainly practiced agriculture, the river Schu was used for irrigation. The place continued to grow and by 1905 already had 606 inhabitants. A church was built which also housed a school.
