Urd
Urd ( Old Norse Urðr "fate"), almost exclusively in the context of the source of the Urd , is one of the three sisters of fate in Norse mythology , who are also known as Norns , alongside Skuld and Verdandi . Urd stands for the past.
Urd is probably related to the Germanic term Wurd . The term appears in some Germanic epics and means something like fate or death. It was originally used as a personification and could also have referred to a goddess or norn.
