On 15. August 2019 was an Airbus A321-200 ( Air vehicle registration VQ-BOZ ) on the flight 178 of the Ural Airlines from the airport Moscow Zhukovsky to Simferopol on the peninsula of Crimea with 226 passengers and seven crew members on board shortly after taking off from a swarm Met seagulls . Both engines failed and the pilots Damir Jussupow and Georgij Murzin made an emergency landing with retracted landing gear in a corn field about five kilometers from the runway . No fire broke out and the machine could be evacuated using the eight emergency slides . 23 people were injured. The machine had to be written off as a total loss .
