Uralskaja Gorno-Metallurgitscheskaja Kompanija ( Russian Уральская горно-металлургическая компания , UGMK ) is a Russian company with headquarters in Verkhnyaya Pyshma .

UGMK is a company that mines various metals in Russia, especially copper and zinc . The extracted metals are further processed by UGMK, including wire and cathodes . The company is headed by the Uzbek Iskander Machmudow . UGMK emerged from the former Uralelektromed combine in the 1990s .

The company has been a sponsor of the internationally successful women's basketball club UGMK Yekaterinburg since 2000 .

In September 2013 it was announced that UGMK had acquired 10% of the shares in Montanwerke Brixlegg from Umcor AG . This report was only denied in 2014. Shares were never sold, although UGMK had been named as a co-owner on the Montanwerke website for a long time.
