The Urbach is a left tributary of the Helme in the Nordhausen district , in the Free State of Thuringia , in Germany. From the source to the mouth, the Urbach is a second order body of water, and maintenance is the responsibility of the Harz foreland water maintenance association.

course

The Urbach rises north of the town of the same name Urbach . It flows mainly in a south to south-east direction. The only place along its course is also only Urbach, with a little less than 1000 inhabitants. To the northeast of Heringen, the flowing water reaches the Unstrut tributary Helme.
