The Urdenbacher Altrhein is a stream in the North Rhine-Westphalian city of Düsseldorf , which flows through the districts of Garath and Urdenbach . From August 2013 to March 2014, it was renatured through two openings on the western bank over a length of 2.3 km. Now both the water of the Garath Mühlenbach and Rhine water can flow into deeper areas of the Urdenbacher Kämpe and form a natural lake, marsh and wetland area.
The Urdenbacher Altrhein is the lower reaches of the Garather Mühlenbach, which flows into an old river bed of the Rhine near Hellerhof and from there uses its course. It flows into today's Rhine at Urdenbach.
