Hinoba-an is a municipality in the province of Negros Occidental on the island of Negros in the Philippines . It has 56,819 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who live in 15 barangays . It belongs to the 1st income bracket of the communities in the Philippines and is described as partially urbanized .

It is located about 199 km south of Bacolod City . Travel time is around 4 hours by bus and around 3 hours by car. Their neighboring communities are Sipalay City and Candoni in the north, Ilog and Basay in the east. The coast of the Sulu Sea marks its southern and western border. The topography of the municipality is described as hilly to mountainous in the west.
