Ilog is a municipality in the province of Negros Occidental on the island of Negros in the Philippines . It has 57,389 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who live in 15 barangays . It belongs to the 2nd income bracket of the communities in the Philippines and is described as partially urbanized .
It is located approximately 104 km south of Bacolod City . The journey time is around two and a half hours by bus and around two hours by car. From Kabankalan City there is also the possibility to travel by jeepney . Its neighboring communities are Kabankalan City in the east, Candoni , Cauayan in the west, Hinoba-an and the province of Negros Oriental in the south. The narrow coastal strip in the north lies on the Gulf of Panay , into which the Ilog River flows. It forms a delta of around 50 km².
The Dancalan cave system with the Cueva Kabog, Cueva Tubig and Cueva Intsik caves is located on the territory of the municipality. A very striking mountain is Mount Kanlaoron, it is conical in shape and a cross has been erected on its summit. The Andulauan Bird Watching Sanctuary is located near the beach and is a popular destination.
