Candoni is a municipality in the province of Negros Occidental on the island of Negros in the Philippines . It has 21,789 inhabitants (August 1st 2015 census) who live in 9 barangays . It belongs to the 4th income bracket of the communities in the Philippines and is described as partially urbanized .
It is located approximately 137 km south of Bacolod City . Travel time is around 3 hours by bus, and around two and a half hours by car. From Kabankalan City there is also the possibility to travel by jeepney . Its neighboring communities are Cauayan in the north, Ilog in the east, Hinoba-an in the south and the community borders on Sipalay City in the west . The topography of the municipality is described as hilly to mountainous in the west. Candoni is the catchment area of the Ilog River .
The sit-in grotto is located in the municipality , it is 150 meters long and forms a cathetral-like conclusion. There is a small lake in it.
