San Enrique

San Enrique is a municipality in the west of the Negros Occidental Province on the island of Negros in the Philippines . It has 23,907 inhabitants (August 1, 2015 census) who live in 10 barangays . It belongs to the 4th income bracket of the communities in the Philippines and is described as partially urbanized .

It is located approximately 49 km southwest of Bacolod City . The journey time is around 60 minutes by bus or jeepney , and around 40 minutes by car. Its neighboring communities are Valladolid in the north, La Carlota City in the east, Pontevedra in the south and in the west the community borders on Guimaras Street .

In the parish is the Our Lady of Candles parish church , which was built in 1864 and reconstructed between 1954 and 1970. The Wetland 2004 Mid-Winter Bird Count is located in Barangay Tibsoc, an important resting and wintering area for migratory birds from Asia , where up to 12 bird species can be observed.
