The Uri II Dam is located on the Jhelam River in the Union of Jammu and Kashmir, India .
The dam was completed in 2014 and is used to generate electricity.
It is located in the Pir Panjal in the Jhelam breakthrough valley near the city of Uri . The shut-off is a 52 m high gravity dam m of concrete with a crown length of the 157th The dam wall has four 9 m wide gates. Due to the low effective storage capacity, the power plant functions as a run-of-river power plant . To the left of the dam, part of the river water is channeled through a 4.235 km long inlet tunnel ( head race tunnel ) to the cavern power station ( ⊙ ). A 3.615 km long tail race tunnel leads the water back to the river not far from the Line of Control ( ⊙ ).
The power plant has four turbines of 60 MW each. The drop height is 130 m. The average annual output is 1124 million kWh.
