Urolf (Niederaltaich)
Urolf (* 8th century ; † June 29, around 814) was a Bavarian Benedictine and from 788 to 814 the third abbot of Niederaltaich .
Life
Urolf was one of the leading figures in Charlemagne's imperial church . In 794 he took part in the Synod of Frankfurt , 802 in the Synod in Reisbach and 806 in the Landtag in Altötting . Karl asked him to settle a dispute between Bishop Otto von Freising and the royal monastery at Tegernsee .
Urolf had a list of the goods belonging to Niederaltaich drawn up, the Breviarius Urolfi . The daughter monastery he founded in Upper Austria and the resulting Aurolzmünster settlement (from Urolfsmünster ) are named after him.
