Uromyces acetosae is a stand fungal art from the order of the rust fungi (Pucciniales). The fungus is an endoparasite of a vaccine . Symptoms of the infestation by the species are rust spots and pustules on the leaf surfaces of the host plants. It is common all over the northern hemisphere.

Macroscopic features
Uromyces acetosae can only be recognized with the naked eye by means of the spore beds protruding on the surface of the host. They grow in nests that appear as yellowish to brown spots and pustules on the leaf surfaces.
Microscopic features
The mycelium of Uromyces acetosae grows as with all Puccinia TYPES intercellular and forms Saugfäden that grow into the storage tissue of the host. The spermogonia of the species growing on the host leaves are honey yellow. The aecia are in large, rounded or diamond-shaped spots. The aeciospores are usually round to oval-polyhedral, orange, warty and 17–24 × 15–20 µm in size. The uredia of the fungus, mostly growing underneath the leaves, are cinnamon-brown and uncovered early. Their orange uredospores are mostly oval-spherical to spherical, 22–25 × 20–22 µm in size and spiky. The parts of the species growing between the uredia are black-brown. The dark brown teliospores are unicellular, usually spherical to ellipsoid, dotted and 23–35 × 17–25 µm in size. Their stem is colorless and long.
