Urs Güntensperger (born November 24, 1967 ) is a former Swiss football player and coach .
Career
Güntensperger played for various clubs in the 1st and 2nd Swiss league, including FC Winterthur and FC Lugano . He also played three times for the Swiss U-21s . On June 30, 1991, while under the influence of alcohol, he caused a car accident and injured himself and was imprisoned for forty-nine days. His move to Young Boys Bern therefore failed and he was without a club in the 1991/92 season. He subsequently played for FC Luzern , including in the European Cup Winners' Cup in the 1992/93 season . In the 1994/95 season he scored fourteen goals for FC Luzern and thus shared fourth place on the top scorer list with Brazilian Roberto Assis at the end of the season . After the following season with FC Zurich , he moved to Germany in the 2nd Bundesliga for Eintracht Frankfurt . For the Hessians he ran in forty-four second division games in two years and scored eleven goals. He also made three appearances and scored two goals in the DFB Cup . In 1995, he was sentenced again to ninety days in prison for drunk driving. But he did not take up this position until May 1998. His move back to Lausanne-Sports in Switzerland was accompanied by a dispute over the transfer compensation to be paid before the Frankfurt Labor Court. In Switzerland, however, it was rarely used. Since 2000 he has only played for lower-class clubs.
Güntensperger first worked as a coach at FC Reinach. For the 2006/07 season he moved to FC Bubendorf. In February 2007, however, he surprisingly resigned.
