Wild America (dt. Wild America ) is an American adventure film from 1997, which on the true story of documentary filmmaker Marty Stouffer based.

action

In 1967, the three brothers Marty, Mark and Marshall live in the US state of Arkansas . They are avid hobby filmmakers, with their entertaining amateur works they entertain the residents of their small village. When the brothers hear that there is to be a mysterious cave in which hundreds of bears are retreating, their decision is made. They want to find this place and document their adventurous journey in a film. In search of the cave, the Stouffers and others come across a. an alligator and a bigfoot- like creature. Often they just barely get away with life until they finally find the bear den they are looking for. Thanks to their youngest brother, who initially traveled as a stowaway, the Stouffers manage to bring impressive photos of the bears living in the cave back to their hometown.

The film service rated the film as "family-oriented entertainment" and praised the clever linking of the storylines. Furthermore, the brotherly quarrel between the three main actors was described with "friendly irony" .

Cinema magazine summed it up as "a song of praise for the Grzimeks of the USA."
