Urs Hürlimann

Urs Hürlimann (born December 1, 1955 in Zug ; resident in Walchwil ) is a Swiss politician ( FDP ) and member of the government of the canton of Zug .

biography

Urs Hürlimann worked from 1977 to 1983 in Goldau ( canton Schwyz ) as a primary school teacher and then moved to the canton police in Zug, where he held the post of chief of staff from 1983 to 1990 and acted as commander from 1991 to 2004. During his time with the Zug canton police, he was the main initiator of the merger of the canton and city police to form the Zug police. During the assassination attempt on the Zug Cantonal Council on September 27, 2001, which was a traumatic experience for both the Canton of Zug and Switzerland, he was the head of the crisis team.

From 2004 to 2011, Hürlimann was a career officer in the rank of Brigadier Commander Military Security in the DDPS . He presides over the morning garden commission, which organizes the morning garden shooting.

Hürlimann is married and has three grown children; he lives in Hünenberg .

politics

Since February 2012, Hürlimann has headed the Zug Health Directorate as a member of the government. As health director, with over 100 employees, he is responsible for the hospital system and the rescue service, health promotion and prevention, questions of professional practice in the health sector, drug control, food safety and the veterinary sector. In his role as Health Director, Urs Hürlimann chairs the Conference of Health Directors in Central Switzerland (ZGSDK, Health Division) and the Concordat Council of the Psychiatry Concordat Uri / Schwyz / Zug. Since 2014 he has been a board member of the Swiss Conference of Cantonal Health Directors (in short: Health Directors' Conference , GDK).
