Ursel is a district of the Belgian municipality of Aalter in the Flanders region . The place is in the province of East Flanders in the Ghent arrondissement and has an area of ​​20.72 km² and 2673 inhabitants (as of 2002).

Knesselare is 3 km to the west, Ghent 18 km to the south-east, Bruges 20 km to the west-north-west and Brussels 68 km to the south-east.

The municipality of Ursel became part of Knesselare in 1977, which in turn merged with Aalter on January 1, 2019.
