Ursula Brohl-Sowa

Ursula Brohl-Sowa (* November 1955 in Cologne as Ursula Brohl ) is a German lawyer . She has been police chief in Bonn since 2011 .

Life

Ursula Brohl-Sowa grew up in her native Cologne and completed her school education there. She then studied law at the University of Cologne . After completing her studies, she joined the public service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) in 1982 and initially worked as an administrative lawyer for the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia in Düsseldorf . She began her professional career at the Ministry of Construction and Transport and from 1989 onwards she held various management positions in the Ministry of the Interior as a ministerial official . She worked as a financial officer and from 2000 to 2008, among other things for the police finance charge. Most recently she was deputy head of the department for national organization and administrative modernization in the Ministry of the Interior .

In November 2011 Brohl-Sowa was appointed Police President in Bonn by NRW Interior Minister Ralf Jäger ( SPD ). Brohl-Sowa succeeded Wolfgang Albers , who had already switched to the office of Cologne Police President in October 2011. As head of the Bonn Police Headquarters , she is responsible for the independent city of Bonn as well as for the cities and communities of Bornheim, Rheinbach, Meckenheim, Königswinter, Bad Honnef, Swisttal, Alfter and Wachtberg from the Rhein-Sieg district . 1,300 officers work in their area of ​​responsibility for the safety of around 540,000 people.

Brohl-Sowa is non-party . She lives in Cologne, is married and has two grown children.
